ENJOYING AQUATIC ACTIVITIES SAFELY
Pacific Palms Surf Club aims to keep the beach safe for locals and visitors, educate our children in surf safety and surf skills and encourage physical and social activities for its members. Pacific Palms Surf Life Saving Club is located at Elizabeth Beach, in Booti Booti National Park, on the lower north coast of NSW. Elizabeth Beach, fondly known as "Lizzy" to the locals, boasts clear unpolluted water, a soft sandy beach and panoramic, unspoiled views. The 600m long beach faces north-east and is well-protected from east and south-east swell by Charlotte Head. Prominent hills border each end and a natural low foredune backs most of the beach. The Pacific Palms Surf Club is located behind the centre of the beach. Parking is available at both ends as well as near the surf club.
Considered the safest and most popular beach in the area it is the only patrolled beach between Cape Hawke (Forster) to the north and Tea Gardens to the south. (click here for patrol times). The club was founded in 1986 and although still relatively young has gained a reputation for success in competition, sportsmanship and friendship and members pride themselves on their strong life saving ideals.
The modern clubhouse offers fantastic views of the beach and beyond as well as covering the practical and social needs of its members. It has become popular with locals and visitors as a venue for weddings and other functions. Staged extensions to improve the facilities for members and the community are complete and the club now has a lift and disabled toilet and shower facilities; new ladies and gents toilet and shower facilities; a new commercial kitchem; meeting room and a well equipped gym.
The club also collects water to supply it's new outdoor shower and has installed solar panels on it's north facing roof.
